September, 2000 an email from Model Naked states;
"Hey! wow Did you
know Deborah Harry did a Sara Lee commercial?"
No I didn't. But it has been a slow 12 months for news
and as such, this warrants a mention in my Newsround!
What is Sara Lee - an Ice Cream?

December, 1999, money for old rope...
"I want that Man" is one of my favourite Debbie
Harry tracks
and I was not surprised to learn that Debs is jumping on
the millennium band waggon to re-release this song under
the uninspiring title; "Here
comes the 21st Century" aggghhh!

"Blondie LIVE" Blondie's first authorised LIVE

31 May, 99, "Nothing
Is Real But The Girl" was
released in the UK as a 2 single set.
With its uninspiring cover art and a complete lack of
radio airplay, this track unsurprisingly entered the
Gallup Top 40 at number 26 and sank without trace 7 days
later.
What puzzles me is why Blondie
didn't tie the release of the single in with their live
UK shows during June, 1999...

It
is now over four years since the Internet first throbbed
with the visual feast that we know as "Dan's Debbie
Harry Worship Site" Who could have believed what
great things lay ahead? Nobody could have envisaged that
the mighty Blondie would reform, tour again and release a
new album.

Counter started on Saturday, 3rd August, 1996.
A monumental
surge in visitors was noted around the release time of
"No Exit". All goes to show that being
interested in Debbie Harry or Blondie can be a bit like
supporting Manchester United. Premiership or not, I don't
really care - I'll still maintain this site, even though
Debs and the boys are now back in the non-league!
*What
has the release of "blur: the best of" got to
do with Blondie? Nothing except that they both begin with
"bl" and I am big fans of both acts. (The blur
DVD is a must - if only for "The Universal")
